Gyōda, Saitama

Gyōda is a city in Saitama prefecture that serves as a nice day trip or half day trip from Tokyo. From tokyo station it takes just over 1 hour to reach Kumagaya station direct on the Takasaki line. From there to get to the castle, switch to the Chichibu Railway and ride the train for three stops. Please be warned the Chichibu Railway is often delayed, cancelled or has reduced service. In this case you can take the train to Gyōda station and take a bus from the station. It will drop you off around an 7 or 8 minute walk from the castle. You can ask the bus driver which stop you should get off at. If you get off at Gyōda station , there are also bicycles available to rent from a small tourist information center. There are few sightseeing spots in Saitama, but Gyōda is certainly a nice place to visit. J.S Burger Cafe Shinjuku

Today I want to introduce a good burger spot in Shinjuku. J.S Burger Cafe is a small chain with a few locations around the city. In 2020 they celebrated their 20 year anniversary. There are so many great burgers places in Tokyo, and I’m still searching for the best one. Whilst the burger I ate at J.S was satisfying, I feel there’s something extra out there. First of all the location. Opposite the Shinjuku southern terrace exit, there are a row of shops and the cafe is located on the 3rd floor above a clothes shop. After walking up the stairs you are greeted by a neon burger light at the entrance. You can eat in or take out. The staff will guide you to your seat should you choose to eat in. Then you go up to the counter to place your order. The menu is quite extensive, with a lot of interesting toppings. Edo-Tokyo Open-Air Architectural Museum

There are many museums to be found in Tokyo, but if you fancy something a little different and a little off the beaten track, then this museum is a solid choice. Located in the west of Tokyo (and not to be confused with the Edo-Tokyo museum in Ryōgoku) , the architectural museum can be found in Koganei Park. To get there, you can ride the Chuo line train from Shinjuku. The journey takes just over 20 minutes and after arriving at Musashi-Koganei station, you switch to a bus. There are buses going regularly, every 5-10 minutes during the day. Take the North Exit of the station, and there is a sign on the bus stop saying ‘Koganei Park’. Ride the bus for about 5 minutes until you arrive at the park. Once arriving, you can follow the signposts until you reach the museum entrance gate.
